Jager is a 1.5 year old Mountain Cur. His parents are both original mountain curs and he was born from an accidental litter (they had some fun while out hunting). I don't have papers on him being purebred but do have pictures of both his parents if needed. I have taken a new job and will be traveling a lot, so i no longer can provide him the care and attention he needs. He is very intelligent and high energy. He has a desire to please and becomes very attached to his master. He regularly trees squirrels when we go on walks, but more training would be necessary for him to be a true hunting dog. He will need lots of room to burn off excess energy as he is a working dog breed. It's very hard to have to let him go, but he deserves a good home where he can run and do what he's bred to do. I don't want any money for him just a good caring home. Please feel free to contact me personally with any questions,. I'd be more than happy to answer any you may have. (Less)

Mountain cur/boxer mix. He is 9 months old. He does have separation anxiety. When he is left alone and out of his crate he chews on everything in sight. When he is with other dogs or has people around him he does great. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He is in his crate at bed time and when we leave the house. He needs a place to run, but cannot be left off of his leash outside unless he is in an enclosed area. He is extremely fast. He would be best suited with another dog who can play with him. He is very active and very loving. He loves kids, but still doesn't quite understand that he can't jump on them and play too rough with them. But, he's doing really well with running. He is an incredibly smart dog. He's my baby boy but I'm moving and cannot take him with me or I will be immediately kicked out. I would like for him to be around other dogs and have a fenced in backyard to run and play. (Less)

Mountain Cur Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Mountain Cur is a brave, rugged hunting dog. Mountain Curs are protective guardians of their families bred from tough dogs of the pioneer days. Mountain Curs are best suited to life in the country with plenty of space to roam and a job to do. Mountain Curs are smart and trainable, but they do not make good indoor pets.
